G.L. Batra was married to Veena Batra.
She was born to Prof. S.P. Passi and Satya Wati Passi in Lahore (now in Pakistan) on 20 November, 1943. Prof. Passi relocated to Jalandhar in Punjab before Partition, and eventually settled down in Hisar in Haryana in Haryana where he retired as Principal of D.N. College, Hisar.
An elegant and charming person, Veena spent her life looking after her children and caring for them even after they had grown up. An independent person, she travelled around the country by herself, mainly for pilgrimage or to visit places of religious importance.
Veena Batra passed away on 23 January, 2021 in Gurugram, Haryana.
