Philanthropy

G.L. Batra was known and respected for his always-willing-to-help attitude. Throughout his career, he helped both, people known to him and strangers with the same zeal. Even though he was not a politician, his telephone was constantly engaged from calls and his house full of people seeking his help. He obliged all by making calling to his colleagues in the government and acquaintances and friends outside of the government for help.
He continued the legacy of his forefathers by continuing to support charitable activities, including whole heartedly supporting the Gurukul located near Arya Nagar for which land was donated by his father.
After his retirement, he served in Batra Hospital, New Delhi for over four years to help the Hospital benefit from his vast administrative and governance experience.
